Hair wash routine.

A couple days ago, I was making breakfast and gazed over the calendar I have hanging by the stove. Next to the 24th of December, there was a note saying “11 months grow!”, written in big letters. It has been exactly 11 months… since I went into deep hair rehab, intensive hair awakening.

I just had to get out of the salon confused and distressed, on January 24th, to make big decisions about my hair future. Isn’t that how it always works? To make big changes, we gotta know discomfort. In my case was frying my hair for the 103934 time, to finally realize no, this isn’t what I want.

And so I did the MOST for 11 months so far, and I’m not going to quit, rather happily continue what has been definitely working.

I got big updates that involve red light therapy (for hair) and new supplements I’m trying, but I’ll make another post to give myself enough time to see how effective these additions are.

Today I’m going to take you through my hair wash routine and the products that I can swear by. There are basically 2 types of routines I do and alternate. They all includes: shampoo, masks or conditioners, bond builders, leave in conditioners and hair oil.

I tired so many combinations of products. I did too much and too little. So these are the routines that has been the most effective for my hair (fine, bleached, medium density).

Routine A

1) I start with pretty much any shampoo that will clean the scalp. I don’t really have a favorite, as long as it does what it needs to: clean the scalp. I shampoo twice.

2) then I use a mask. My top choices are:

I rotate these 3. Bottom one is super affordable, the rest a bit pricey but worth it.

I let it sit approx 5 min. I don’t brush my hair in shower anymore but districate them with my fingers. I rinse it.

3) I wrap my hair in a microfiber tower for 5-10 min, then I apply on damp hair a bond builder like this one below,

then I gently brush my hair.

4) After 10 min, I apply a leave in conditioner, these are my top choices:

5) I let my hair air dry almost completely, then I blow dry it with a diffuser and then apply hair oil on ends. Favorite oil:

I buy the travel size, it’s cheaper and lasts a long time.

I wash my hair at night before going to sleep usually. My hair looks best after it slept on a braid or two… something about it, just looks amazing the next day ah. If I want real good curls, I use a hair curler, sometimes on just a few spots like in the front depending on what kind of curls my braids have left and if I want more volume on some areas (the curler adds that).

Routine B

1) Shampoo like above.

2) Bond builder K18! Been loving it after not being impressed in the beginning. It grew on me. It does feel that overtime has strengthened my hair. On the bottle it says not to put conditioner after and I just do it anyway, there is not chance I avoid this step lol.

I buy the travel size of this one too, it lasts months since I only use it now every 2-3 washes.

3) Mask or conditioner (I don’t have a favorite conditioner now, I feel my hair really looks best rotating different masks!)

4) Leave in conditioner mentioned above.

5) Hair oil.

That’s it! I wash my hair every 4 days. I’m still religiously following a night hair routine and I think that has been vital in my hair health and growth.

That’s all for now… going in the shower for a hair wash 😉
